PFLAG meetings are open to people 18 and older who seek to better understand, support, affirm and advocate for their loved ones in the LGBTQ+ community. At our meetings, attendees can share their current concerns and questions. We may discuss the expanding vocabulary used to describe the spectrum of gender identity & presentation and romantic attractions. Sometimes we may discuss current events, advocacy opportunities, and other resources available.
Ground Rules for participation in our support meetings
1. Confidentiality is a fundamental agreement for all who participate in PFLAG. Anything said in a meeting is confidential to the group. What you hear and who you see stays here.
2. Be honest.
3. Use “I” statements.
4. Express feelings, not opinions.
5. Be respectful of time.
6. Listen generously. Give your full attention.
7. Respect differences and diversity of views.
